Twin sisters Helga and Clayborne come from a long line of witches on their mother’s side. But although their many magical relatives have made a comfortable life for themselves on the outskirts of modern society, their parents have more mainstream plans — moving into a wealthy suburb of Portland, Oregon, so their father can open up his home necromancy practice to a larger market.
Between the annoying neighborhood bullies, an overbearing mother, feral forest dwelling boys, and nosy police snooping around, it’s shaping up to be one bad summer weekend for Helga and Clayborne. On top of that, a swarm of stray fairies have invaded the nearby forests, and they’re stealing everyone’s stuff.
Man, fairies are jerks.
Introducing Fairies are Jerks, an all-ages modern fantasy short story about two sisters, magic, and why we all tried to forget the forgotten creatures of myth: they’re annoying and horrible.
